All sites are treated as equals and under no circumstances will the counting procedures be changed for a single site. All HitBOX counters work in the same fashion, and all statistics are produced under the same environmental conditions.

The purpose of these rules is to promote a fair platform for all sites. These rules are in place to ensure that all sites are accurately ranked on the World 1000 list. Our staff checks the pages on the list to make sure the rules are not broken. We do incorporate special software to monitor the "honesty" of a site. However, our mission is not to be law enforcers. We appreciate fair play just like everyone else.

1. This service is 100% FREE. Therefore, we reserve the right, at any time, without notice, to remove any site from the World 1000 list, terminate any account, or alter an account.
2. We reserve the right to append or change these rules at any time, without notice.
3. The HTML code provided to you upon creation of your account must reside on your page unaltered. You must not alter, add to or change the WebSideStory button in any way (this includes changing the width and height), change the click through URL, change the ALT text displayed while the icon is being loaded, etc. WebSideStory personnel may inspect your site to ensure you have the correct code. If tampering has occurred, your account may be terminated.
4. The counter icon must be visible on your page.
5. You may use only one WebSideStory HitBOX counter per page. If you have more than one HitBOX monitoring your page, your account will be immediately terminated. A "cheater" icon will appear where the counter would normally be displayed.
6. Only one page per WebSideStory HitBOX counter. If you have more that one HitBOX on your page, your account will be immediately terminated. A "cheater" icon will appear where the counter would normally be displayed. Please contact us if your are mirroring your site.
7. If you falsely generate hits to your page, your account will be immediately terminated, you will be barred from ever creating a counter, and our staff will contact all advertisers on your page to notify them of the offense.
8. No more than ONE account from the same domain will be displayed on the TOP 10 page. This rule does not apply to any other page but the Top 10.
9. You may create a counter for any page you would like. However, the URL displayed on the World 1000 List must point to the page being counted. Your URL on the World's Top 1000 list must not point someone else’s site or a site outside of your domain. Please contact us if you have any special circumstances.
10. Your account will be not be published on the World 1000 list if you do not receive any hits during one day. As soon as this circumstance changes, your page will be returned to the list.
11. Multiple hits to your site from the same visitor within 30 seconds are ignored (they are calculated as "reloads"). This time interval is the same for all counters.
